Feb 14, just another normal day

Feb 14th, its just another normal day for me..

I dont celebrate Valentine for few reasons, but lets just leave it at that.

Anyway, was doing some reading on Wiki regarding Valentines day

In Japan, in 1960, Morinaga, one of the biggest Japanese confectionery companies, originated the present custom that only women may give chocolates to men.[citation needed] Unlike western countries, gifts such as candies, flowers, or dinner dates are uncommon. It has become an obligation for many women to give chocolates to all male co-workers. This is known as giri-choko (義理チョコ), from the words giri (“obligation”) and choko, (“chocolate”). This contrasts with honmei-choko (本命チョコ); chocolate given to a loved one. Friends, especially girls, may exchange chocolate referred to as tomo-choko (友チョコ); from tomo meaning “friend”. By a further marketing effort, a reciprocal day called White Day has emerged. On March 14, men are expected to return the favour to those who gave them chocolates on Valentine’s Day.

In South Korea, women give chocolate to men on February 14, and men give non-chocolate candy to women on March 14. On April 14 (Black Day), those who did not receive anything on the 14th of Feb or March go to a Chinese restaurant to eat black noodles and “mourn” their single life.

A friend of mine brought up a topic last night regarding speed dating as he’s attending one to accompany his friend and never have been to one. I never knew such ‘speed’ thing exists. Dont you thing its a little rushed, especially for those who gets nervous in front of girls?

LOL all you want, but at my current state, i guess i’ll be attending it in years to come ;__;

Naaahhh~

Anyway, good luck in your love life, although i think Valentines Day is a little OVERRATED as you can always show your love at any time under the sun.

Oh My God, that is soooo sad. I feel that its a little silly to be mourning over something that one does not have. :X

Happy Valentine’s Day to you too, enjoy your day. (:

For some reason, my 14th Feb wasnt a tragic ronery.
Me and /jp/ comrades spent the lulz on Billy’s coverage since the figma launch all the way to midnite nico live broadcast., while on /a/ with best RIE thread too.

So, anyone in for an April 14th open table?

I would gladly join you on that.😄.
    I’ll serve up.

Well, at least your day was fine, and in the end, that’s fine enough isn’t it?

Though, I always feel that Valentine’s Day for me is just a Hallmark gimmick just to attract people and money, so I don’t believe in it.
    Why? I just don’t, no real reason.😄.

I was reading something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your perspective on it is diametrically contradicted to what I read earlier. I am still pondering over the opposite points of view, but I’m inclined to a great extent toward yours. And no matter, that’s what is so good about advanced democracy and the marketplace of thoughts online.
